The Next Chapter for High School Hockey
The Texas Hockey League (THL) is proud to announce the launch of the Texas Scholastic Hockey League (TSHL), a dedicated operational arm created to advance high school hockey across the region.
Following close collaboration with the Texas Amateur Hockey Association (TAHA), the THL was identified as the right partner to build a dedicated high school hockey solution in the image of what made its inaugural travel hockey season so successful. The TSHL will operate as its own dedicated body, separate from the existing youth travel hockey league. While there are natural synergies between the two, high school hockey will be managed specifically for the community it serves, and built with that community in mind from day one.
This new chapter will be built on a foundation of operational success. The TSHL will draw directly on the transparent, community-first practices that delivered real results for clubs, coaches, and families this past season, giving the new league a strong, tested foundation from day one.
Building a league the right way takes time, and we want the community to be part of that process from the start. Over the coming weeks, families, coaches, and clubs can expect regular updates as the TSHL takes shape, including a new website and a growing public presence. This work is all in preparation for the 2026–27 season, when the Texas High School Hockey League will officially begin operations.
We are excited about this next chapter and grateful for TAHA's continued support. More information is on the way; stay tuned.
